Love Your Literature. Books are Important.

Books--scripture, fiction, poetry, history. They're coming to the White House.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and Happy Inauguration Eve!

And here are some pic's, taken on the first of the year I think, of Orion at 11 months!!! (in reverse order--I had to get him to hold still by exploring a drawer.)

Pictures from Auntie Joni and Uncle Aaron's visit. (and who knew that Orion was a Bronco's fan...?)

Christmas Joy

Merry Christmas, Everyone! Orion happily opened presents, then took a 3 hour nap. His favorite: a stuffed rat he stole from Uncle Gabe's stocking, runner up, a dog squeak toy in his. (thus worth the exorbitant $6.99.) Mine: watching the joy of Christmas through the eyes of my own little son.

Fish-eaters For Healthy Oceans

Dan made a now-traditional Saffron-Leek Fish-Melange Soup for Christmas Eve. Wow, is it good! It's from Sally Schneider's New Way to Cook. I hope (and think) we used sustainable fish. If you're still looking for a New Year's Resolution (now that you faithfully lug your reusable totes to the grocery store)--how about adding this to the list: EAT SUSTAINABLE FISH, RESTORE OUR FINE FISHERIES. Find your very own POCKET GUIDE here:

How I wish I'd taken pictures of his soup.
